The site of several Civil War landmarks, Port Royal is a gated oceanfront community with three 18-hole golf courses, 16 tennis courts (two of them grass) and an oceanfront swimming and recreation facility. The 700 homes in Port Royal are occupied only by owners or long-term lessees. Port Royal is also the site of The Westin Resort Hotel, which offers first rate lodging, restaurants, and conference facilities.
